Five More
Only five structures remain to be removed from the city block bounded by S. Galvez, Palmyra, Cleveland, and S. Miro. On Friday, crews began taking the roof off the lonely house at 328-30 S. Miro, which has stood alone for some time now.
It's my belief that the house will be moved - it seems like a good candidate since it's not on a slab, it's structurally sound, etc.
I don't know for sure, though. And the lists seem somewhat fluid.
The key worry I have about that particular house at this point: that the November 30 deadline for the city and state to complete site prep for the VA is looming. And as time dwindles, I think the risk of the house getting demolished increases simply because there is less and less time available to move houses.
Very sad - My grandparents lived there for many years (until their death) just before Gayle Ruth bought it. I went last weekend to see the house - very sad... Thanks for the information.
