Built to Last
Construction equipment slumbers in the afternoon heat in the LSU Footprint. At right, the 1879 McDonogh No. 11 School remains in place. It is unclear when or if the building will ultimately be moved. At center, the 1892 St. Joseph's Church, subject of a successful earlier preservation fight, stands with its downriver facade shaded. On the far left, the central massif of the late 1930s Charity Hospital rises out of the CBD. The building's fate remains unclear.
