As signs come down
The Schadler Building at 1909 Tulane Avenue, in the LSU Footprint, housed Southern Electronics Supply until recently. The sleek modernist lettering was removed from a spot near the front door. Why Schadler?
Southern Electronics Supply was founded in 1932 as Southern Radio Supply by Alfons Schadler, a German immigrant with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was forced into making this move because of losing his job during the Great Depression. The company has grown over the years into one of the most successful regional distributors in North America!
