Demolished, Not Moved - Salvaged?
Around mid-day, the 115 year-old double shotgun house with fishscale shingles, apron overhang, decorative quoins, and jigsaw brackets was demolished.
While it's quite possible that the house was not structurally sound to move, I'm mostly curious about the salvage. Earlier in the morning, the house still sported its pronounced brackets and a number of other items. A few hours later, as the machinery dug through the rubble, there was no pile of salvaged items in front of the house.
I'll be heading down to Habitat for Humanity's ReStore tomorrow morning to see where the brackets are. If they're not on hand, there's a problem.
This, as a reminder, is what the house looked like before.
