Here's a link to the Draft Site-Specific Environmental Assessment for the building, which will be up for consideration.

The preferred alternative is to transfer the building to the City of New Orleans once the new VAMC is completed in Lower Mid-City "in exchange" for that site.

What will the City do with the existing VA property?
