The S.W. Green House
The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans does an excellent job laying out the significance of the S.W. Green House on S. Miro Street as an important part of African American architecture in New Orleans.
UPDATE/CORRECTION:
I would be remiss if I did not note the crucial role played by architect and architectural historian Kenneth Bryant in doing the research legwork necessary for a complete understanding of the S.W. Green House. His research, released in late 2009, formed the basis of the linked post above. Again, a special thanks to Mr. Bryant for working with the primary sources to provide us with a sense of the importance of the structure at 219 S. Miro Street.
